  11. Amateur satellite Korean Oscar 25 (KO-25) is expected to be
  12. available for use beginning about February 1.  The satellite,
  13. launched last fall and originally designated KITSAT-B, has been
  14. under test since then.

  16. KO-25 is a 9600 bit/s packet store-and-forward satellite similar to
  17. KO-23, with uplinks on 2 meters and downlinks on 70 cm.

  19. KO-25's builder, the Korean Advanced Institute of Science and
  20. Technology (KAIST), thanks potential users of the satellite for
  21. their  cooperation up to now in not attempting to use the KO-25 BBS.

  23. The Institute said that testing is expected to continue after
  24. February 1, and there may be interruptions of service, but they are
  25. not expected to cause any "serious problems."

  28. KAIST.
